biosketch: Greta Castellini is a researcher physiotherapist with a PhD in Epidemiology and Public Health, working as vice-director of the Unit of Clinical Epidemiology at the IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi Sant’Ambrogio in Milan (Italy). Since 2012, she has been actively involved in the Cochrane activities, attending the Cochrane Italian Center supervised by Professor Lorenzo Moja, and publishing systematic reviews within the Cochrane Stroke Group, the Cochrane Musculoskeletal Group and the Cochrane Multiple Sclerosis and Rare Diseases of the Central Nervous System Group. In 2016, while a PhD student, she was a research fellow for 6 months at the Clinical Trial Unit (CTU) of Rigshospitalet, The Copenhagen University Hospital, Copenhagen (Denmark) hosting the Cochrane Hepato-Biliary Group, where she was trained in systematic reviews and innovative methods of evidence synthesis (Trial Sequential Analysis) under the supervision of Christian Gluud (M.D., Dr.Med.Sci.). She attended post-graduate advanced courses in Clinical research: guidelines for clinical practise (2017), and Clinical research: randomized controlled trial (2018), and Clinical research: diagnostic accuracy systematic reviews and guidelines (2022) at the University of Milan. Furthermore, Dr Castellini gained level I and level II certifications of the International Guideline Development Credentialing & Certification Program –INGUIDE (McMaster University and GIN) in 2021. She has been now attending the Master degree level II (expected 2024) on Methods and Data Analysis in Biomedical Research -MEDAL in Biomedical Research (University of Milano Bicocca, Italy). Her expertise focuses in the design and creation of systematic reviews with meta-analysis, trial sequential analysis and network meta-analysis, in the production of evidence based clinical guidelines with the GRADE approach, covering the pathway from knowledge production to its uptake in clinical practice, and in the conduction of meta-epidemiologic study designs. Since 2018, she has been adjunct professor in Research Methodology for the University of Vita-Salute San-Raffaele, University of Milan and University of Verona. In 2023 she obtains the National Scientific qualification as associate in the Italian higher education system, in the call 2021/2023 (Ministerial Decree n. 553/2021 and 589/2021) for the disciplinary field of 06/N1 - Technology and methodology in medicine and nursing sciences. Since 2019, she has been member of the national committee of the scientific society of AIFI (Associazione Italiana Fisioterapia) supporting in clinical research and production of clinical practice guidelines. Currently, Dr Castellini has been an evidence reviewer for the National Center for Clinical Excellence, Quality and Safety of Care of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità for the production of national guidelines for the Italian Minister of Health attending more than 35 guideline panels as methodologist for the guidelines on major trauma, cardiovascular diseases and obesity.
