biosketch: My name is Alfonc Baba and I was born i Shkoder (Albania) at October 30th 1985. I obtained my Bachelor Degree in Physiotherapy at the Chieti University “G. D’Annunzio” in 2008. Afterwards (in 2011) I a obtained a First Level/Professional Master (Advanced Education) in Musculoskeletal Disorders Rehabilitation (Manual Therapy) at Genua University. Subsequently, (in 2013) I obtained the Master Degree in Rehabilitative Science of Health Professions at Padua University. In between 2008-2019 I have worked at the Department of Neurorehabilitation of the IRCCS San Camillo Hospital in Venice (Care and Research Istitute), sharing my working time between clinical activity and research activity mainly carried out in two laboratories: 1) Laboratory of Kinematics and Robotics; 2) Laboratory of Clinical Neurophysiology. During this time I have participated to the conception and I collaborate for the implemantation of clinical trials and I am also co-author of a few scientific papers. Moreover I have attended at many rehabilitation conferences and congresses as an invited speaker or chairman. In between 2017-2019 I was visiting professor at Shkodra’s Universtity "Luigj Gurakuqi" (Albania) at Physiotherapy Bacheror Course, where I have teached Manual Therapy Techniques and Basics of Reserch Methodology and EBM. In between January 2020 to July 2023 I have worked at the Rehabilitation Unit of the Padua University Hospital taking a full-time clinical activity, interested to motor rehabilitation in inpatients with neurological disorders (Neurological Clinic; Stroke Unit; Neurosurgeon Division and Intensive Care Unit). Since 2010, in both workplaces, IRCCS San Camillo Hospital in Venice and at the University Hospital of Padua, I was clinical tutor for the neurological area of the bachelor's students in Physiotherapy of of Ferrara and Padua Universities. In July 2023 I won a research fellowship at the Padua’s University Department of Information Engineering. Since August 2023 I'm carrying out research activity related to the project titled: "Optimization of the set up of robotic assistive devices based on individual biomechanical and neurophysiological parameters", under the supervision of Professor Alessandra Del Felice. This Research Project is funded by Italian Government throught The National Recovery and Resilience Plan - Next Generation Europe funds. Furthermore, since October 2023 I am a Neuroscience PhD student at Padua University following the project titled “Spasticity management and motor recovery in stroke patients: from basic neuroscience to clinical pathway” under the supervision of Professor Alessandra Del Felice.
